The belly dancing show that hedonistical, dragonfish and I are dancing in is on this Saturday. See hedonistical for tickets. It will be worth it.
Finished the dreads today, mostly, they look really really wicked. And they are long, so very long.
I should go to sleep because I have homework to do before tomorrow's class.

My uncle and cousin were in a car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver. My uncle has a sore back and my cousin has a broken nose. The car was a write off. The drunk driver hit the car about 6 inches behind my cousin's seat. My uncle was going to take his grandson but decided against it just before he left. The car hit were he would have been sitting.
Thank god

Tribal technique is from 10am-11.15am, Turkish technique is from 11.30am-12.45pm. Cost is $10 a class, or $9 if you're a student, Medanz member, or Pagan Gathering member. If you go to both classes, then it's $18 and $16 respectively.
We will be going over the basics in the first few weeks so its okay if you miss the first class (ie Winter Weekend People).

I had an excellent weekend. The weather was shitty but the tent and tarps did a wonderful job. Thank you to everyone who made it such a fucking awesome party. So much fun ...
Club Orientale
Our dances went fairly well. The compliment I got the most was that I looked like I was having great fun and my smile was really natural. (thats because I was laughing the whole time).
Misc.
I think I may have upset someone. I'm really sorry if I did. Hugs
Anyway, I'm cold so I'm going to go have a hot shower.

Proper Fucked
Well, I spoke with the Head of Department yesterday. When looking for a descriptor for the performance in a dictionary, you could look as far as 'Ab...', and use such words as "abomination" or "abysmal". Don't.
No Doubt Excuse Me Mister
Use "Aadvark"
It gets the pain over quicker. It was bad. Extra bad. And so, the HoD has given me a structure for my Production Report, showing precisely what I need to do to drag my mark up out of the infernal depths into which it has plummeted.
The Offspring Burn It Up
We have also set in motion plans for an "alternative assessment" rather than doing the group production. Instead, I will write an "extended essay" based on the production, from a theoretical perspective. I will also work with the Theatre Technician as his dogsbody Assistant for the production.
Metallica Don't Tread on Me
Well, I really need to get this day started. It's going to be a long weekend. I'm really sorry if I get crabby.

I got an extension on my essay :) I emailed my lecturer to apologise for it being late, and to let her know when I would hand it in and she asked me if would like an extension. A bit of politeness goes a long way it seems.
Anyway, off to write some more.

Called Up
Got a phone call from the Departmental Secretary this morning.
Bearing the news that the HoD wants to see me.
Considering the shambles that was the result of my wee production...
...Should I be as worried as I am?
But then, I've been in a good mood all day. And this hasn't managed to burst my bubble. Then again, I have a feeling that I am a mere David fighting the Goliath of theatre knowledge right now, and I have been informed that Ngai Tahu have reclaimed all the pebbles I had picked up for my wee sling.
I Want a Squirell. Squirrell. Squirrel. Whatever.
I got a package from Mother Dearest today. It had a jersey, and a sweatshirt, and a T-shirt, and some greeting cards, and a CD of pictures from America, and a set of booster cables, and a picture by my sister. And socks. So many socks.

Damn, This LiveJournal is Boring
Y'know, ever since I started saying nothing funny, controversial or interesting, this journal has become remarkably dull. Or at least my part has. Drizzle's still seems to be ticking over nicely.
Led Zeppelin Immigrant Song
Learning Songs
I successfully taught myself to play the guitar and bass of The Offspring (Can't Get My) Head Around You yesterday. It's a fun song, and tricksy.
What Were You Talking About?
I went shopping yesterday with the Legionnaire, out at Hornby Mall. I ended up with a new wool turtleneck jersey. It was very much like the budgie, and I couldn't pass up such a good deal. The Legionnaire definitely beat me in the finding-a-bargain game, but I'll leave it to her to do the show-and-tell.
It's About Time
I finally got around to watching A Clockwork Orange a couple of days ago. It's a good film, with many threads of plot remaining as non-sequitors, and other parts having a deeper meaning than described within the limits of the film. One of my favourite parts had to be when Alex went to the record store, and prominent on a shelf is the vinyl soundtrack for 2001. Cheeky Monkey.
Time to start my day, I guess.

How Apt
WinAmp kicked off today with Descendents Coffee Mug, although I am currently mellow in the sounds of Smashing Pumpkins The Guns of Love, a remixish thing of The Beginning is the End is the Beginning.
Wizo Closet
Band Practice on Sunday was held at Arthur Street, with Eladrin, Slosh and Manus in attendance. We worked through another of Eladrin's original songs, an untitled love song. I played the new bassline to Change, and generally we got a lot of work done, despite me only catching about ten winks after scoping the olympics most of the night.
If anyone knows of a drummer who would be interested in playing with Killmuffin, please get in touch with me.
I think we would be able to do a cover of The Offspring (Can't Get My) Head Around You too.

Today I am going to edit together some sequences made from films such as Metropolis, Modern Times and Human Traffic, as well as some other little bits and pieces to really arts things up. It's going to be fun.
Rehearsals
And tonight, rehearsing the whole damn play. With our tutor from five, and with our technician from 8. So it will be a long night. As I said before, gaming tonight is off.
Play
The play is an adaption of the Grimm bros. Briar Rose that Huey, KT and I have written ourselves. It is worth some 20% of the theatre course (which, being a twelve-point course, gives it as an effective 40% of a semesterised paper). And that's really hurting me at the moment. I have very little time for anything else, and it looks like I'm going to have even less - even for course work - as rehearsals for the main class production run from 7 until 10 for four nights a week all next term. I'm going to have to find an alternative, because I won't be able to cope with that.
And such a failure sickens me.
Well, those are my all consuming thoughts at the moment.

As a Tear Drops From a Swollen Eye
And as I wave farewell to a friend, I wish him the best of luck as he slides down the slippery slope of his own timely oblivion. Good luck, my friend, and try to avoid the branches as you plummet to the forest floor. You ungrateful two-faced whining little shit.
I Ate a Bug
I'm sick of this. It's destructive. It's counterproductive. It's shitty. I know I have some problems - some really big ones at the moment - and I know that other people have problems too. What is bugging me is the mountains people are making out of the molehills of another person's remarks. I know that if I didn't have to listen to all of the chaff that flies about at the beginning of a season, then I could get down to the gritty business of the problem, the real problem at hand.
I'm sorry, Prolegomenon, but you're going to have to start buying those magazines. This journal is going to become - as far as trashy drama goes - rather dull.
I can but hope.
